Sustainability Victoria (SV) is looking for local government, industry and stakeholder feedback on how to improve kerbside collection systems in the state.
The consultation – Optimising Victoria’s Kerbside Collection Systems – will review how local governments can improve collections of general waste, organics and commingled recyclables to increase resource recovery, reduce costs and achieve increased efficiencies in delivery.
Feedback from the consultation process will be used to develop supporting tools and resources to help government waste services providers to enhance their kerbside collection services.
SV is supporting the consultation with a series of workshops across Victoria’s regions in February and March to explore the issues with local government representatives. It will then extend this outreach to obtain input from the waste and resource recovery industry and community.
