EPA SA Consults On Waste Management Reforms

Adelaide-based EPA SA is consulting on waste management reforms
The EPA SA is undertaking a consultation on options for waste management regulations in the state.

It is seeking feedback from industry and the local community on its proposals to support “a confident, innovative waste management sector” in South Australia.

To support the consultation, EPA SA has published a discussion paper – Reforming Waste Management – creating certainty for an industry to grow – on its website and is hosting an online forum for direct feedback. It is also holding a series of public meetings across the state in September.

On its website, EPA SA says that the impetus behind the consultation is to maintain South Australia’s position as a leader in resource recovery. The government is looking to update regulation around waste and recycling waste reform to achieve industry certainty, stimulate growth opportunities, and address existing challenges within the waste and resources industry.

The online discussion is available on YourSAy. Full details of the consultation and meeting dates are available on the EPA SA website.

The closing date for submissions on the discussion paper is Friday 2 October.
