Suez Environnement confirms 2015 community grants

Suez Environnement has announced more than $155,000 in grant funding to 38 community groups across Australia. 

The Suez Environnement community grants program (previously SITA Australia) was launched In October 2013. The initiative provides funding for projects up to $5,000 to encourage community involvement in creating a sustainable future for Australian communities.The successful applicants for the 2015 round were confirmed on 24 July.

In its two years of operation, the grants program has provided more than $250,000 to inspiring local organisations and projects. This year the grants program attracted 445 applications from across the country.

Suez Environnement CEO Eric Gernath said: “We look for groups of people who are actively making a positive change to their local community and their environment.

“The projects that we are directly funding range from primary school community gardens and Men’s Sheds equipment, to wheelchair ramp access in a camping centre and therapeutic horse-riding programs for disabled children.”
