SV appoints new Chair

Melbourne, Victoria
The Victorian Government has appointed Heather Campbell as Chairperson of the board of Sustainability Victoria (SV) for a five-year term.

Currently the CSIRO’s General Manager of Health Safety and Environment, Ms Campbell has more than 25 years’ experience of leading the management of environmental and sustainability issues. A former CEO of Landcare Australia, she brings experience of landcare, waste minimisation and energy efficiency.

SV recently launched its new strategic plan, SV2020, a five-year vision to help communities develop practical, local action on climate change, resource efficiency and waste, which will be refreshed in 2016 under the guidance of Ms Campbell to ensure it effectively supports the government response to the Review of the Climate Change Act (2010) and the Victorian Climate Change Framework.

Minister for Environment, Climate Change and Water Lisa Neville said:“We look forward to working with Heather and the Board on engaging with and supporting our community to act on climate change – taking advantage of the opportunities for jobs, growth, cleaner industries and more liveable communities.”
