WRIQ set to bring delegation to Melbourne expo

WRIQ CEO Rick Ralph
Waste Recycling Industry Association Queensland (WRIQ) is joining equipment and fleet suppliers participating in the inaugural Waste Management In Action expo, which will be held at the Melbourne Showgrounds from 5 to 7 May.

Waste Management In Action forms part of the well-established International Truck, Trailer and Equipment Show (ITTES) and the Roads & Civil Works Expo, with around 500 companies expected to exhibit.

WRIQ has booked its place as the event is expected to attract industry influencers, suppliers, educators and professionals from across Australia who have an interest in Queensland’s wide-reaching waste sector.

The show offers a large-scale indoor and outdoor platform for to demonstrate their latest technology and services. As a result, visitors will get a unique opportunity to view and test a broader scope of equipment from companies who service the waste, recycling and resource recovery sector.

WRIQ CEO Rick Ralph is keen to bring a delegation of WRIQ members to Waste Management In Action, where they can take advantage of an exclusive meeting area for discussions with suppliers, service providers or potential employees.

“This show is unique, taking in three complementary areas of trucks, waste management, and civil works, which overlap for equipment needs,” said Rick. “Many of the big national players – whether that be in fleet, machinery or specialist equipment solutions – will be at this show.

“So it makes sense for those in change of procurement decisions for Queensland businesses and councils to see full working demos, find out about new ways to make their operations more efficient, and see what opportunities there are for deals to be done.”

Rick said a major factor his decision to bring WRIQ to the Melbourne event was its Education and Careers Pavilion. One of WRIQ’s priorities is to raise the profile and aims of legitimate waste and recycling operators in Queensland, as well as showcasing the potential of the industry as a career option to school leavers and graduates.

Rick is keen for WRIQ representatives to network with other peak bodies and organisations that underpin the industry nationally, as well as linking in with educational institutions to scope mutually-beneficial opportunities.

Full details of the show, exhibitors and visitor information will be made available on the event website. WRIQ members interested in joining its delegation to the event should contact Rick Ralph directly by email at rick.ralph@wriq.com.au.
