The City of Swan has diverted 62,000 kilograms of waste from landfill following a successful Garage Sale Trail.
Over two weekends in November, there were more than 350 garage sale events with the participation of 5000 residents selling pre-loved homewares, clothing, toys and books .
The Garage Sale Trail is a national initiative to encouraged communities to buy pre-loved and recycled goods.
City of Swan Mayor David Lucas said it was a great outcome, “Events like this help to foster a more circular economy, where our local community recycles and reuses items, instead of just putting them in the bin.”
The Garage Sale Trail will return to the City of Swan in November 2023.
