The Australian Organics Recycling Association (AORA) is calling for presentation proposals for the AORA 2025 Annual Conference, to be held from June 3-5 at the Newcastle Exhibition and Convention Centre (NEX) in New South Wales.
With a theme ‘Beyond the Windrow – Building industry resilience,’ the conference is set to be an engaging, informative and interactive event.
Submissions addressing the following themes will be assessed, as well as other topics which may be considered at the committee’s discretion:
- New AS4454 standards and what they mean for the industry
- Is it enough just to meet the standards? What does the end user want?
- Updates and developments in federal and state strategies, regulations, and legislation
- Measuring Contamination: Weight or area? What produces the best result?
- Emerging Contaminants: Prevention over cure
- Risk sharing / Procurement / Shared responsibility / Passing the cost / Contamination and contracts – drivers for councils
- Standard Practice: Is what we do now the best way? What are the alternatives?
- Alternative technologies, i.e. tunnels, wet AD, dry AD, pyrolysis
- Technology case studies from a user perspective
- Investment for new projects and business growth (including scale)
- Collaborative Procurement – Lessons learnt
- How to get the right advice
- Business strategic and operational planning
- Marketing product outside the “normal” channels
- Options for product pathway to market
- Communication, education and engagement
- New developments in research
- International experiences
- How can we think Beyond the Windrow?
