Astec Australia, has announced that Mineral Processing Solutions Pty Ltd (MPS), an OPS Group (OPS) company, will expand distribution of Astec’s fixed plant and equipment to include aggregate and mining sectors in New South Wales.

The move is an extension of a 2021 agreement between the two companies that saw MPS take on distribution of Astec Material Solutions’ products in Western Australia, Northern Territory and South Australia, and to the mining sector in eastern states.

Under the terms of the new agreement, MPS will supply fixed plant crushing and screening equipment to the New South Wales aggregate and quarry industry.

Astec’s Regional Managing Director, David Smale, welcomed the move and said it was the first step in a continuing expansion.

“Astec and MPS have forged a strong partnership over the years – one that has been of real benefit to our customers,” Smale said.

“The MPS team’s extensive local market knowledge and experience in mineral processing, supported by Astec’s innovative technologies and manufacturing capability, has made MPS the perfect partner to deliver outstanding products and service.”

Local sales and service teams are in place, and new local support facilities in the New South Wales Hunter Region have been stocked with the latest Astec crushing and screening equipment.

“MPS taking our fixed plant into the aggregate industry in New South Wales is the first step in what we expect to be a continuing expansion, with the company moving into the Queensland and Victorian markets over the next few years,” Smale said.

“For our existing quarrying customers, little will change. Through MPS, they will still have access to the complete range of Astec’s industry-leading crushing and screening equipment, plus the extensive knowledge and experience of the MPS sales and service teams.”

Astec is a global manufacturer of specialised equipment for asphalt road building, aggregate processing, and concrete production. The company has facilities on three continents manufacturing a range of market-leading products from crushing and screening plants and bulk material handling equipment to hot mix asphalt (HMA) facilities, concrete plants, milling machines, asphalt pavers, and material transfer vehicles.

MPS also distributes Astec Telestack mobile bulk materials handling equipment and Astec Breaker Technology International (BTI) products throughout Australia, so the company already has a strong presence on the east coast.

OPS Group, a distributor of mineral processing and bulk materials handling equipment, operates across Australia, with facilities in Perth, Adelaide, Darwin, Central Coast New South Wales and Brisbane.
