Charitable Recycling Conference – live in Sydney

Charitable Recycling Australia operates several charity shops, adding to the reuse community.

The Charitable Recycling Australia National Conference 2022 will be in Sydney at the Novotel Sydney Central on 17-18 October.

Leaders of the charitable reuse and recycling sector will be in attendance, along with governments, councils, suppliers and consultants, to address the theme  Inspiration for Transformation.

The two-day conference,  to be opened by New South Wales Minister for Environment and Heritage James Griffin, will focus on elevating reuse for circularity and provoking retail best practice.

Keynote speaker on day one will be Jana Zurkova, Network Development Manager of RREUSE, who will provide insight into reuse in Europe and why strong policy and funding for reuse is needed.

A panel discussion on whether charitable reuse is the biggest driver of Australia’s circular economy will include Matt Allen, Research Associate of Monash University; Martin Norstrom, Sustainability Manager of Salvos Stores and; Sam Sondhi, Chief Executive Officer Outlook Australia.

Sessions on day two include retail benchmarking, key metrics to define and deliver best practice; retail data insights on customer traffic; effective marketing and communications and social media conversation.
