Chair and CEO of the Clean Energy Regulator Chloe Munro has confirmed her intention to step down from the role.
The authority published confirmation on 11 November that Ms Munro will not be seeking a new term of office when her five-year tenure ends in April. She originally took up the position on 2 April 2012.
The Department of the Environment and Energy will lead the recruitment process to find suitable candidates to fill the vacancy.
The Clean Energy Regulator administers schemes legislated by the Australian Government for measuring, managing, reducing or offsetting Australia’s carbon emissions. Members of the Regulator are appointed by the responsible minister under the Clean Energy Regulator Act 2011, and are required to have substantial experience or knowledge in fields relevant it. The Chair holds office on a full-time basis.
Ms Munro will continue to serve in the role for the time being.
