Cleanaway has added to its construction and demolition waste offering in Greater Brisbane with the acquisition of Waste 2 Resources.

The buy-out was effective from 1 July.

The acquisition has seen 27 Waste 2 Resources employees and 27 heavy vehicle and yellow gear equipment assets move over to Cleanaway’s South Queensland operation, as well as a transfer station in Narangba that specialises in the management and recycling of construction and demolition waste.

“The acquisition significantly increases our construction and demolition capabilities in greater Brisbane, adding to our existing post collections – or waste processing – facilities,” says Neil Perry, General Manager, QLD.

The buy-out also includes Waste 2 Resources’ skip bin collection business, Green Bins, as well as a commercial and industrial collections business.

“We will be operating Green Bins alongside our Brisbane skip business, as well as integrating the commercial and industrial business with our existing, Cleanaway services,” added Mr Perry.

The Narangba Transfer Station will complement Cleanaway’s existing New Chum and Willawong facilities in South East Queensland.
