EPA Victoria is giving the local community another chance to comment on Iluka Resources’ plans for disposing of waste by-products at its Douglas Mine site.

EPA VIC is holding a second consultation period after it received additional information from Iluka Resources to support its works approval application to continue the disposal of waste by-products at its Douglas Mine site.

These details will inform EPA VIC’s final decision and will be available for a 21-day community consultation period that started on 24 March.

This allows members of the local community, stakeholder groups and key agencies to review the new information and provide comments.

An information session at 5.00pm on Wednesday 6 April at Balmoral Hall, featuring representatives from Iluka EPA VIC and Horsham Rural City Council, will also allow the local community an opportunity to discuss the additional detail provided.

The background and archive on the Iluka works approvals process is available on the EPA VIC website.
