EPA VIC names interim CEO

The Governing Board of EPA Victoria has announced the appointment of Lee Miezis as the authority’s interim Chief Executive Officer.

The current and inaugural Chief Executive Officer of Bushfire Recovery Victoria, Miezis has extensive experience in policy, operations, service delivery and regulation.

As a former Deputy Secretary at the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning, Miezis has hands on experience across the energy, waste, environment and climate change, water and catchments sectors.

“The EPA Governing Board is confident Miezis’ experience and leadership brings invaluable assistance to an executive team striving to deliver the biggest transformation in EPA’s history, while meeting the day-to-day challenges of enforcing environment protection regulation across Victoria,” an EPA statement reads.

Miezis will join the EPA on 8 February.

The recruitment for an ongoing CEO is underway.
