The use of recycled materials and the role of infrastructure in driving a circular economy will be explored at the inaugural Greener Infrastructure Conference.
Hosted by ecologiQ, the two-day conference will be held on 6-7 September 2022 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
It will feature a range of keynote speakers, panel discussions, networking events, masterclasses and a trade hall where recycled product suppliers will show how effectively waste can be transformed into vital construction materials.
The conference will be officially opened by Jacinta Allan, Deputy Premier and Minister for Transport Infrastructure and Minister for the Suburban Rail Loop, who will detail how Victoria’s transport infrastructure projects are being leveraged to boost the use of recycled and reused materials.
The line-up of speakers will also include recycling scientist and 2022 NSW Australian of the Year, Professor Veena Sahajwalla; Australian Constructors Association Chief Executive Officer Jon Davies; and Major Road Projects Victoria Chief Executive Officer Allen Garner.
ecologiQ is a Victoria’s Big Build initiative that is driving the reuse and repurposing of waste materials in road and rail infrastructure projects across the state.
