New funding to boost WA’s recycling infrastructure

Western Australian recycling and processing operators can apply for a share of $1 million in funding to support investment in infrastructure projects.

The WasteSorted Infrastructure Grants Program is now open with up to $250,000 available for each project.

The program prioritises infrastructure projects that recycle and process food and garden organics as well as textiles.

Reece Whitby, Environment Minister, encouraged recycling infrastructure operators to apply for the funding.

“Our government is continuing to invest to increase WA’s recycling infrastructure, and ultimately improve environmental management,” Whitby said.

“We’re committed to making landfill the last resort, and this grants program is another important step towards creating a low-waste, sustainable state.”

The grants are administered by the Waste Authority.
