New leachate treatment plant at Dunmore

Aerofloat has won the contract to complete the detailed design and construction of a leachate treatment plant for the Dunmore Recycling and Waste Disposal Depot.

The new plant will treat the leachate from the Dunmore facility to meet Sydney Water discharge requirements.

The wastewater is particularly challenging due to the high levels of ammonia and its highly variable quality.

After an extensive tender process with Shellharbour City Council, Aerofloat was named the preferred supplier, with work to begin early 2021.

“We’re excited to be working with Shellharbour City Council on this project. Securing this project demonstrates Aerofloat’s large scale project capabilities as well as its expert in-house knowledge for the treatment of complex waste streams,” Ray Anderson, Managing Director said.

“We hope to complete the project before the scheduled completion date to assist the council with its compliance targets and to minimise trade waste disposal costs.”

The Dunmore Recycling and Waste Disposal Depot is a state-of-the-art facility and represents Shellharbour City Council’s focus on meeting the NSW state government’s waste avoidance and resource recovery targets.
