Nominations have opened for the 2024 WasteSorted Awards, with this year’s event an opportunity to celebrate Western Australians who are working towards a low-waste future through improved waste practices and innovative waste solutions.
The awards recognise individuals, businesses, local governments, community groups and schools in 10 categories: Community Waste Award; Schools Award; Business Award; Waste Champion Individual Award; Waste Champion Team Award; Local Government/Regional Council Award; Regional Award; Community Engagement Award; Innovation Award; and Closing the Loop Award.
Environment Minister Reece Whitby said he looked forward to celebrating the achievements of Western Australians who are championing new and exciting ways to reduce, reuse and recycle waste.
2024 WasteSorted Award winners will be announced at a dinner award ceremony at Crown Perth in September, coinciding with the annual Waste and Recycle Conference at the same venue.
Nominations close on 27 May 2024.
