Ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes of a modern resource recovery facility? Building material company Heidelberg Materials is hosting a ‘Wollert Waste Safari Open Day’ at the Wollert Resource Park in Melbourne’s’ northern suburbs.
This event is an opportunity for the local community and interested groups to visit a landfill and quarry to learn about how the site works to manage waste and produce building materials.
Attendees will also learn about how the site is improving the way it manages waste, as well as what modern resource recovery looks like, and how it impacts the materials communities are built with.
The event will include 30-minute waste safari bus guided tours throughout the day, where attendees can explore the site and see how rock is quarried, waste is managed and learn about the activities that make the Wollert site a circular economy powerhouse. Heavy machinery will also be on display.
The event will be held on March 29 from 9:30am-3pm.
