Replas goes viral with “best recycling video ever”

The Captain Replas video
Replas has produced a quirky new video to attract groups to learn more about recycling at its visitor centre in Victoria.

The recycled plastics remanufacturer was looking for fresh, engaging way to encourage groups from schools, business and the community to book visits and seminars at its Carrum Downs-based Environmental Centre.

The result is the “Captain Replas” video, which was posted on YouTube on Friday.

The protagonist is a superhero, sporting silver undies and special recycle goggles, who is searching for “super civilians” to book a tour of the Replas site and “find their inner hero” by learning more about recycling.

“We have one of the largest plastic recycling showrooms in the southern hemisphere, but we are something of a hidden treasure,” said Rita Holmes, Communications Manager for Replas.

“We wanted to find a unique and fun way to share our story, raise awareness about recycling and encourage people to ‘Take the Tour’.”

The Replas Environmental Centre incorporates a “tunnel experience”, which provides an innovative learning environment, a theatre that shows films on recycling relevant to the audience, and a showroom displaying Replas products with messaging to convey the amounts and types of recovered materials used in their manufacture.

More details about booking site visits is on the Replas Environmental Centre website.
