Australian startup ReSmart (formerly RecycleSmart) has unveiled a new name and refreshed platform experience, reflecting its mission to make waste recovery simpler, smarter, and better value for councils, businesses, and individuals.
ReSmart’s new on-demand model provides councils with the flexibility to access up to 120 litres per Pickup for only $20 + GST, with zero minimum commitment. In addition, any quantity and item can be collected from Community Recycling Centres (CRCs) and local hubs, ensuring valuable materials are reused, repurposed, or properly recycled.
Giorgio Baracchi, Chief Executive Officer, said ReSmart’s real-time reporting makes it easy for councils and business partners to measure engagement, track environmental outcomes, and uncover opportunities to recover more resources.
“With partners including Westpac and councils across Australia, ReSmart is redefining how waste recovery can be both efficient and accessible,” he said.
“We’ve made it easier for everyone to do the right thing. The new ReSmart is bright, approachable, and designed to help more Australians waste less.”
Building on its proven service model, ReSmart continues to expand its offering with:
- Flexible pickup sizes to meet different household needs — from everyday recycling to spring cleans or moving house.
- Enhanced AI-powered item recognition for more accurate sorting and efficient collections.
- Live impact dashboards showing real-time data on materials collected, diversion rates, and community participation.
- A new value offer for councils, with more material collected per pickup, helping local programs reach more residents within existing budgets.
“Our rebrand to ReSmart marks the next step in our growth,” says Baracchi. “We’ve kept what works for our partners and customers – convenience, reliability, and impact – while introducing smarter tools and more flexibility to make waste management easier for everyone.”
