Sign up to the India-Australia Circular Economy Hackathon

Registrations are now open for the India-Australia Circular Economy Hackathon hosted by CSIRO and Atal Innovation Mission, in collaboration with the Indian Government.

The hackathon will be held 8-10 February 2021, with CSIRO looking for university students, start-ups or SMEs based in Australia to form a team to create solutions that address the waste crisis and compete with other innovators.

The virtual event will provide participants with the chance to learn from industry experts, engage with like-minded individuals and create new ideas that will help rethink materials and waste.

In a team, groups will select an idea to develop, justify and present a solution to one of the four hackathon themes linked to the circular economy.

2021 challenge themes:

Innovation in packaging – reducing packaging waste

Innovation in food supply chains avoiding waste

Creating opportunities for plastics waste reduction

Recycling critical metals and e-waste

Group ideas can take the form of an app, digital art, a website, a game, 3D models, graphic designs, pure academic research or any other medium which can be tested and innovated upon.

Applications close 20 December. To register click here.
