Transpacific launched the Victorian arm of its end-to-end organics soil injection program, Bio Ganics, today (3 December).
The Bio Ganics process creates a nutrient rich fertiliser from liquid waste collected from food and beverage manufacturers. Once processed, it’s injected into soil about 10 to 30 cm below the surface using a tanker-tractor,which has the capability to inject 24,000 litres of the nutrient-rich solution every 10 minutes.
Transpacific says that this results in a clear improvement in the chemical and nutrient value of the soil.
Transpacific Industrials Managing Director Tony Roderick said Brookhaven Farm in Numurkah, 35km north of Shepparton, was chosen as the launch site because of its proximity to one of Victoria’s prime agricultural hubs.
Commenting on the official release of Bio Ganics at Brookhaven Farm, Mr Roderick said: “It’s an honour to be able to release this innovative and sustainable recycling solution in an area of Victoria where its benefits will be fully realised and utilised.
“Our organics team has worked hard to make this a possibility and we look forward to building constructive relationships with farmers and producers in the Goldburn Valley.”
Transpacific Organics has been operating since 1994 and has become an industry leader in bio solids, effluent and liquid organic by-products recycling. Every year it reuses over 75,000 tonnes of organic solids and over 90,000 tonnes of organic liquid waste from food production.
