VIC EPA announces leadership changes

$5M funding awarded to six VIC recycling and renumeration projects

The Victorian EPA has announced the appointment of Lee Miezis as the next Chief Executive Officer.

Miezis joined EPA in February as the interim CEO, supporting EPA as the authority prepares for the integration of new laws in the sector.

The Chair of the EPA Governing Board, Professor Kate Auty said the appointment of Miezis will hold the authority in great stead.

“The board and I look forward to continuing to work with Lee.  We have every confidence that he has the vision and drive to deliver EPA’s transformation and to take us to great heights,’’ Auty said.

Miezis was previously the CEO of Bushfire Recovery Victoria and the former Deputy Secretary at the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning.

Miezis said he is eagerly waiting to contribute to the authority.

“I am excited to lead the EPA as we work with the Victorian Government, our key stakeholders and most importantly the community, to protect the health of Victorians and the environment,” Miezis said.
