VIC EPA backing Sustainability Awards

EPA Victoria has announced that they will again sponsor the Premier’s Sustainability Awards.

The Victorian EPA will sponsor the Healthy Environment – Industry Leader Award.

For its nineteenth year, the Award categories for the program have been re-shuffled, with this year’s awards categories aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Six award categories feature in this year’s program and two awards within each category will be presented: the Community Champion Award – for individuals and small organisations, and the Industry Leader Award – for medium and large organisations.

EPA CEO Lee Miezis said the awards will highlight progressive work completed within the industry.

“The Healthy Environment – Industry Leader award aims to recognise a Victorian business demonstrating leadership, commitment and excellence in environmental protection and is open to Industry Leaders,” he said.

Past winners include Yarra Riverkeeper Association and Cleanwater Group, which banded together to mitigate the negative effects of litter and polystyrene pollution in the Yarra River.

The judging panel will include a broad range of independent environmental experts selected for their sustainability and industry expertise.

Entries for the Premier’s Sustainability Awards close on Friday 30 July 2021 at 5pm.
