Deadline looms for VIC waste groups’ consultations

Waste and recycling industry to be represented on NWRIC
Stakeholders have until Friday to comment on Loddon Mallee’s and Barwon South West’s draft waste and resource recovery plans.

Feeding into the broader 30-year Statewide Waste and Resource Recovery Infrastructure Plan for Victoria, both the regional waste and resource recovery groups released their draft implementation strategies for consultation in July.

The documents set out how the waste management and recycling infrastructure needs of the regions will be met over at least the next 10 years. To ensure that the proposals are fit for purpose and suitable for the communities they serve, both groups are seeking feedback from stakeholders, residents, councils, industry, businesses and the state government.

Both groups are requesting feedback no later than Friday 12 August.

Details of the Loddon Mallee Draft Waste And Resource Recovery Plan and how to comment are on its website.

Barwon South West Regional Waste And Resource Recovery Group’s plan and overview is available on its website and feedback can be provided through a survey.
