The Victorian Waste Management Association (VWMA) has endorsed the recently launched Victorian Recycling Infrastructure Plan (VRIP) by Recycling Victoria.
The plan aims to transform the recycling landscape in Victoria, ensuring a more sustainable future for communities and the environment by bolstering recycling capabilities, enhancing infrastructure, and promoting innovation within the sector.
Mark Smith, Executive Officer of VWMA, said the Victorian Recycling Infrastructure Plan represents a significant step forward in the collective efforts of the industry to improve recycling practices across the state.
“It addresses the critical need for robust infrastructure, enabling us to meet future demands while reducing our environmental impact, he said.
“We applaud the commitment from Recycling Victoria to support local communities and businesses in this endeavour.
“The VRIP will not only facilitate improved recycling outcomes but also create opportunities for economic growth and job creation within the waste management sector.”
VWMA is hosting an upcoming masterclass on November 26 focused on writing applications and submissions to Environment Protection Authority Victoria.
Smith said the session would provide insights and practical skills for stakeholders looking to navigate the complexities of regulatory submissions.
It will cover how to create an application to suit the needs of the EPA, including an overview of triggers and permissions.
Smith said it was crucial for industry professionals to be equipped with the right tools and knowledge.
“Our masterclass will empower participants to effectively engage with regulatory bodies, ensuring compliance and fostering innovation in our industry,” he said.
