Waste Expo Australia 2025 is poised to make a significant impact once more as it returns to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre on October 29–30.
Anticipated to be the largest event on Australia’s waste and resource recovery calendar, the expo will host a record-breaking 140 exhibitors and attract more than 3500 industry professionals, including representatives from councils, major contractors, government bodies, and commercial operators.
Organisers said this growing interest underscores the urgency and momentum within the sector.
“The strong exhibitor participation this year, comprising both returning participants and newcomers, signals a growing emphasis on innovation, circular economy practices, and sustainable infrastructure. As environmental regulations tighten and community demands increase, the expo stands as a vital arena for collaboration, policy dialogue, and business expansion.”
Companies from global innovators to established local leaders within the circular economy are solidifying their commitment to the event, contributing to the strongest exhibitor retention to date. Moreover, a noticeable surge in first-time participants eager to interact with decision-makers and showcase new waste management technologies further illustrates the sector’s dynamic nature.
“More than merely a trade show, Waste Expo serves as a strategic venue to promote local manufacturing and the prowess of Australian-made solutions,” says Jake Henderson, National General Manager of Sales and Business Development at HSR Southern Cross.
He said last year’s event helped bolster HSR’s national profile by connecting the company with pivotal decision-makers. As demand heightens for transparent, locally supported equipment tailored for Australian conditions, the significance of this event continues to grow.
Prue Rowe, ANZ Group Marketing and Public Relations Manager at EcoCycle, expresses similar views: “Waste Expo Australia is instrumental in showcasing EcoCycle’s specialisations in battery, mercury, X-ray, lighting, metal, and e-waste recycling,” she said.
“It provides us with invaluable opportunities to engage with government and commercial partners, highlight our recycling infrastructure advancements, and demonstrate our growing competencies in areas such as battery-in-device processing and storage solutions.”
The 2025 event will welcome back the Government Lounge featuring Sustainability Victoria, Recycling Victoria, and Environment Protection Authority Victoria. The inclusion of an expanded conference program and partnership with ecologiQ Greener Infrastructure Conference is set to draw new audiences, reflecting the industry’s move toward integrated, cross-sector solutions and enhancing the expo’s significance.
Aligned again with All-Energy Australia, Waste Expo encourages cross-sector collaboration, particularly between waste management, clean energy, and decarbonisation. This strategic pairing fosters an integrated sustainability approach, empowering attendees to explore shared technologies and policies across sectors.
By joining diverse stakeholders, from policymakers to innovators, Waste Expo Australia 2025 stands as a crucial platform for advancing collaboration and promoting progress within Australia’s waste management landscape.
