Waste Expo Australia goes online

Waste Expo Australia is taking its conference online this month.

Across four sessions, from 19 October, 2021 to 21 October, the virtual conference will bring together more than 30 leading experts to discuss the latest developments, challenges and opportunities facing the waste management and resource recovery industry.

The free conference is the country’s largest gathering of industry professionals.

It will take place alongside All-Energy Australia and Energy Efficiency Expo and tackle some of the critical topics impacting the industry in Australia.

Lily D’Ambrosio, Victorian Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change, will address the first session with an insight into the government’s 10-year plan to overhaul Victoria’s recycling sector, create 3900 jobs and reduce waste going to landfill.

Lee Liezis, Chief Executive EPA Victoria will set the stage for EPA’s vision, in line with new powers given to the environmental watchdog in July, 2021 with a greater focus on prevention of harm to the environment.

Other sessions include waste and recycling initiatives, commercial and industrial waste management, and the roadmap to creating a national circular economy and from trash to treasure WtE opportunities for Australia.
