With Inside Construction Expo 2023 just over three weeks away here’s a look at some of the speakers taking to the floor over the two-day program.
An event dedicated to major commercial and civil projects in the Australian construction industry, the Expo is being held from September 20 to 21 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The conference program promises to be informative and engaging, with key themes being discussed over three stages across the two-day event comprising: Workplace Wellbeing and Team Management, Digital Transformation and Connectivity, Sustainability and Environment, Construction Productivity, The Skills Gap: Training, Education, Recruitment and Careers, and Health and Safety.

Jeremy Trotman
Jeremy is a skilled and well-respected industry leader. In recognition of his contribution to furthering the awareness and understanding of occupational hygiene, he was awarded “Fellowship” status of the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygiene (AIOH) and is a Chartered Fellow of the Safety Institute of Australia (AIHS).
Jeremy’s interest in OHS lies in pursuing the scientific assessment of risk and prioritising controls to get the best return on worker health. He has been engaged in several research projects on that issue.
Junaid Afzal
Junaid is an accomplished engineer and solution sales professional with more than 15 years’ experience overseeing intricate projects, fostering customer and partner relations, and cultivating collaboration across diverse teams. His fervour for digital transformation and technologies drives him to craft business value through consultative co-creation.
Junaid’s experience spans R&D, consultancy, Ppresales, and sales.
Melinda Davis
With more than 15 years’ experience in education and employment sector roles, Mel has designed and delivered programs to support career development and worked in roles delivering both Federal and State Government initiatives.
Mel is passionate about supporting people to make informed career choices and encouraging them to step outside their comfort zones. Mel is the current Head of Programs at Empowered Women in Trades.
Shane Hodgkins
Shane Hodgkins is Co-Founder & CEO of Matrak – a global materials tracking network connecting construction supply chains. Matrak has been used by nearly 300 projects for most tier one and two builders in Australia, alongside customers in China, Southeast Asia, the UK, Canada and the US. Their goal is to radically reduce the risk and overhead associated with construction supply chains while helping their customers become preferred players in the industry.
