WRIQ event to explore COVID impacts and opportunities

Waste, Recycling Industry Association QLD’s (WRIQ) upcoming business breakfast will bring experts together to provide updates on the impacts of COVID-19 on Australian markets.

The experts will also provide Budget updates and information on national energy policy and opportunities.

WRIQ CEO Mark Smith said 2020 has been a massive year for the community, businesses, global markets and governments at all levels.

“We are very fortunate to be able to run these events live in Queensland. We’ve also partnered with a range of other industry associations to provide access to their members alongside WRIQ members,” he said.

Attendees will hear presentations from experts in Melbourne and Sydney, streamed live into the event, as well as from an onsite panel. Speakers include representatives from TWUSUPER, HLB Mann Judd and Choice Energy.

“As we begin to shift away from reacting to the pandemic, there will be a need by business to begin making strategic decisions to capitalise on the opportunities of 2021,” Smith said.

“With the Federal Budget just out and record spending in the sector, these sessions provide an important forum for business to position themselves to benefit in 2021.”

The event will take place 29 October from 7:15 to 9:30 am at the Emporium Hotel in South Brisbane.

Tickets include a sit-down breakfast with freshly brewed coffee, a selection of teas and juices, fruit, assorted pastries and a hot plated breakfast.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, tickets to this event are limited and additional requirements may apply.
