The Waste and Recycling Industry Association of Queensland (WRIQ) is pleased to announce its official fundraising partnership with Mates4Mates.
The partnership will see both parties working together to improve the lives of veterans and their families impacted by service.
“WRIQ is committed to improving the sector’s public image and building trust with our stakeholders,” WRIQ CEO Mark Smith said.
“This initiative is just one of the ways we can start to reframe the conversation and you will see more activities on this front this year.”
The WRIQ Defence Community Challenge invites WRIQ members and the broader industry to register their workplaces to take part. Members will register on a dedicated website which will show the collective funds raised.
To register your business, click here.
There are no rules of how you could take part, but below are some examples of what you could do:
• Host a gold donation morning tea, BBQ, or family picnic
• Sell some Mates4Mates socks (you can order these through the Mates4Mates website)
• Put a donation tin at your front desk
• Run a fitness challenge or race between your internal teams
• Host a breakfast or morning coffee event with your clients/customers
All funds raised will go towards supporting veterans and their families move froward from service-related injuries and get the support they need.
“I’d like to thank all the organisations that have already committed to taking part,” Smith said.
“Our industry must begin to talk ourselves up collectively and these types of initiatives help us do that.”
